Zae was born in Pasadena, California in 1968 to a family of artists. As a 3rd generation artist, Zae was encouraged at a young age to pursue and develop his creative talents in eclectic directions. He is a self taught musician who has been playing the guitar since age four. He has worked in video and television as a filmmaker and editor. He was the architect and builder of his own home. He is a welder of sculpture and a passionate painter.
Capable of many artistic expressions, Zae chose abstract to communicate his vision. Zae’s abstracts emit emotional reactions from the observer. The combination of color and edgy composition evoke alluring qualities that speak to the viewer. One is drawn to the raw energy emitted through each painting, energy that is transferred from artist to art. Zae’s art is driven by personal emotion, life experience, and even dreams. He feels a sense of elation and release during the creative process. As soon as he completes a painting, he is anxious to start another artistic endeavor. He is on a mission of art.
Zae is personally endorsed by Lanier Graham, widely published art historian and former curator of the Museum of Modern Art, The Norton Simon Museum, The DeYoung Museum, and the National Gallery of Australia. Lanier Graham considers Zae to be a “remarkable artist.”
Zae’s art is in private collections in France, Italy, Canada, and across the United States from New York to California. His work has been acquired by Oprah's national magazine, O at Home, sold to associates at Columbia and Vanderbilt Universities, GE Capital, and is publicly displayed nationwide in doctor’s offices, architectural and law firms. The Bank of Atlanta has made several acquisitions. Zae’s art is inspirational, enlightening, and thought provoking. And for the artist, the support and appreciation of his art is his greatest professional achievement.
Zae currently resides in Atlanta with his wife Jennifer, a fellow artist and designer, and their two children. He continues to paint daily.
