MICHELLE LISENBY

Michelle Lisenby is primarily an abstract artist who paints in pastels, oils and acrylic on different media including silk, suede, paper and canvas.  Mostly self taught, she is an accomplished figurative painter who prefers the challenge and energy derived from abstract work. The artist combines and often juxtaposes color, light, form and texture to create paintings that run the gamut from quietly soothing to highly energetic.

Artist's Biography:

A lifelong dabbler in art, Michelle Lisenby began seriously painting in 2003.  While continually experimenting with different types of media and approaches to art, her characteristic style has become one of vivid emotional representations expressed through the non-traditional use of pastels.  The nuances of color and form are used to evoke emotional responses from the viewer which she feels is a highly individualistic experience.  This unique experience is fascinating to Michelle and becomes as much a part of the art as the work itself, if not its sole purpose.

In addition to her talent as an artist, Michelle has wonderful taste and an exquisite and refined eye when it comes to art.  She is drawn to art that is highly original and powerful and she has set very high standards for herself and other artists.  It is this ability to see that has served her well and will take her to daring new places as an artist.  We love being part of this process with her.Michelle is a member of the Middle Georgia Art Association, Macon Arts Alliance and the Southeast Pastel Society.   She showed her work at the Museum of Arts and Sciences in March of 2005 and has her first exhibit scheduled with the Macon Arts Alliance in December of 2005.  The artist won first place for works on paper in the Middle Georgia Art Association Annual competition, 2004.

Michelle is an exciting artist to watch, and we are delighted to be there with her as her work grows and evolves.
