“The Colorful South”
Inspired by legends, myths, ghosts, music and more, this series of paintings is a color spectrum of the South. Each piece looks at what makes this region unique – from the music of Outkast and Johnny Cash, to the short stories of Eudora Welty, quilts of Alabama and more. The paintings begin with graphic marks and then are merged with color, shape, texture and the unexpected. The intention is to leave the viewer with a sense of joy, a smile or a feeling of something or somewhere they might have been or wish to go. A non-objective tour of the South.
