This new series of paintings by Doug Foltz is called "Coming Home." It's about growing up in Northwest Florida, spending much of your life on the water, and then coming to shore in the late afternoon and looking up at the sky around you. It's about being filled with awe and humility at the sheer beauty of the water, land, sky, and everything on the horizon. Add to that the warmth of feeling of coming home, and Doug's majestic paintings say it all.

Artist's Biography
Doug Foltz, a native of South Miami, has spent much of his life exploring the water, the horizon, and the relationship between the two. Those elemental moments of sky and water – and the space in between – form the foundation of his exploration as a painter. Based in realism, his style intentionally and easily departs from it to assimilate a more abstract character. His paintings are a collection of personal views associated with life experiences: the explorations of time and place as well as the return to familiar horizons.
Doug holds a Bachelors of Environmental Design and Architecture from Auburn University and has enjoyed a 25-year career as an architect, graphic designer, visual communications strategist, and corporate communications consultant. He has been painting and drawing since childhood, and his works hang in collections across the United States and the Bahamas.
Doug currently shares his time between Georgia and the beaches of Northwest Florida.
